Tackling mental health issues by getting the nation talking

National Time to Talk Day is a day that brings the nation together to get talking and break the silence around mental health problems.

Mental health problems affect one in four of us yet people are still afraid to talk about it. For people with mental health problems not being able to share can be one of the worst parts of the illness. By getting people talking about mental health, we can break down stereotypes, improve relationships, aid recovery and take the stigma out of something that affects us all.

Working with the charity Time To Change, we created a series of films featuring Judge Rinder, MP Ed Balls, Andrea McLean and Nadia Sawalha from Loose Women. In these films these celebrities candidly talk about their experiences with mental health issues and how they’d learnt to share and encourage those around them to do the same. These films were then promoted through Time To Change’s social media channels to great effect.
